In 2013, Dr. August started a concierge internal medicine practice designed to meet the needs of patients who desire services not available in conventional practices. The practice is limited to a few hundred patients. Given the smaller size, there are same-day or next-day appointments and ready access to the practice for phone consultations. Office visits are typically scheduled at one hour intervals. Home visits are made as appropriate. Attention to prevention, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle change is a priority. An annual fee is charged in addition to the billing of insurance. Most insurance plans are accepted, see detail here.
Dr. August is closely assisted by Johnathon Holmes a licensed nurse practitioner.
