On October 1, 2013, Dr. David August started an internal medicine practice designed to meet the needs of patients who desire services not available in conventional practices. The practice is limited to a few hundred patients. Given the smaller size, there are same-day or next-day appointments and ready access to the practice for phone consultations. Office visits are typically scheduled at one hour intervals. Home visits are made as appropriate. Attention to prevention, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle change is a priority.
The practice accepts most standard health plans. Standard co-pays and deductibles apply: insurance contracts require their collection. A list of insurance plans accepted is here. Please check with your insurance company to confirm that Dr. August is enrolled as a PCP in your specific plan. There is an annual membership fee. At this time, the practice is not accepting new patients, although there is a waiting list. Please fill out the form and Dr. August or a member of his staff will get back to you shortly.
Dr. August continues to admit most of his patients to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Labs drawn in the office are sent to Quest. A lab affiliated with BIDMC is at 25 Boylston Street, Suite 204, and is utilized as well. Radiology and Urgent Care services are available nearby: Chestnut Hill Square at 200 Boylston Street, near Wegmans.
Dr. August will be covering his own practice the majority of time. During vacation, coverage will be provided by Dr. Diane London and Dr. Steven Van Dam.
